“It will primarily be a building for our own residents, with a social meeting function. People can come here to meet each other or participate in activities,” says Alderman of Heritage Joachim Jonckheere.
The renovation was major. Except for the exterior walls, the entire villa was renovated, from the stairwell to the attic space. The attic was transformed into an authentic ceremony hall where, among other things, weddings can take place.
“The upstairs room used to be the attic space of the building. It has been completely renovated and now has a new function,” says Jonckheere.
