At 16, Alexander Bommes’ son is considered a midfield talent and plays in the youth ranks of a big club. It will now remain with this.
Hamburger SV continues to rely on a young player with a well-known name beyond football: Jonathan Bommes is staying with the North Germans. As the Hanseatic League announced on Thursday via Instagram, the central midfielder’s contract has been extended.

The teenager also receives attention because of his family background: He is the son of ARD presenter Alexander Bommes, who is known to a wide audience, among other things, through the “Sportschau”, which he hosted from 2011 to 2025.
To mark the announcement, HSV published several pictures of the young player in the club’s jersey. The club wrote: “We look forward to continuing our journey with you, dear Jonathan.”
