Tijl Beckand stops presenting The Perfect Picture On Travel. RTL no longer wants people to travel so far for the program and that causes hassle with the recording period.

A group of ten celebrities travel to faraway Vietnam in the new season of Het Perfecte Plaatje. It will be the last time that the recordings take place so far from home, because RTL is restricting this and that has the necessary consequences. For example, Tijl Beckand will drop out as a presenter, because it can no longer be combined with his other work.

Not in Asia anymore

How exactly does it work? Tijl explains it at the table RTL Tonight. “RTL and now also our owners in Belgium simply look at the sustainability of a program, the emissions, and then they prefer that we make such a travel program in Europe instead of faraway Asia.”

He continues: “Europe is quite cold, isn’t it, in January, February and then you soon get to spring. Then I record the regular version, so it is now at the same time.”

Leonie in, Tijl out

What are the consequences of that? “As you know, Leonie is now away to make the travel edition, I’m just doing the Dutch version here. It completely coincides. On the one hand it’s a shame, but there are now twelve episodes per season. That’s a total of 24 and that’s quite a lot, so I’m focusing on the Netherlands.”

He concludes: “I do that with a lot of love, but it is with pain in my heart that I say goodbye. They were wonderful journeys.”
