The Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights square off in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Raleigh.
The stakes of the match are huge: the winner has the chance to secure the championship in the next match.
In the second set, Carolina’s much-maligned number one chain emerged.
Initially Andrei Svetshnikov shot the Hurricanes to a 2–1 lead with a power play, and later the Finnish star Sebastian Aho finished the game 3–1.
Jordan Martinook won the duel behind the Vegas goal, and the puck was then played to Aho, who rose from the weightless side towards the goal.
Aho skillfully took control of the puck with his skates and lifted the puck with one touch from a small corner right into the roof of the goal.
– That’s skill, Viaplay’s NHL commentator Antti Mäkinen glowed.
Aho and Carolina’s first chain have received criticism during the playoffs when the chain has not managed to score.
In the final series, Aho has played at a point per game pace.
