This Thursday in Buenos Aires, EMPROTUR presented the 2026 winter season of Bariloche with an immersive presentation at the Galileo Galilei Planetarium that brought together national, provincial and municipal authorities, tour operators, airline representatives, winter centers, business chambers and the media. The event, developed under the concept “Welcome winter home”, included a 360° mapping on the Planetarium dome, Full Dome projections at 270°, surround sound, winter atmosphere and a space dedicated to Patagonian gastronomy with representative products of the region.
The president of EMPROTUR and municipal tourism secretary, Eric Guzmán, framed the launch within a strategy that seeks to expand the destination’s offering beyond skiing. “Winter in Bariloche is not just skiing. It is also enjoying the snow, watching it fall, taking a photo, playing, sharing with family and accompanying that experience with our gastronomy,” he stated. Guzmán also advanced the objective of consolidating the city as a destination throughout the year: “Today we present winter, but Bariloche is also summer, autumn and spring. We have the objective of building a Bariloche 365, with the efforts of the private sector, operators, agencies and all those who accompany the destination.”

Mayor Walter Cortés supported the initiative and stressed the municipality’s commitment to the active promotion of the destination. “Where we are invited we go. We are going to promote, we are going to tell about the beauty that Bariloche has,” he expressed, and valued the work of the private sector as a driving force for the continuous improvement of the tourist offer. The Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation, Daniel Scioli, highlighted the record of flights to Bariloche, the open skies policy and the efforts to modernize the Customs infrastructure at the Cardenal Samoré border crossing, relevant for the entry of Chilean visitors. He also focused on the growth of inbound tourism and attracting Brazilian tourists. “I have no doubt that it will be a great season. I know the Brazilian tourist very well, I know what they want and what they demand,” he said.

The governor of Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck, highlighted the coordinated work between the private sector, the municipality, the province and the Nation, and noted that Bariloche enters the season with strengthened air connectivity and public and private investments in progress. His central objective, he said, is that each visitor takes away a positive experience from the destination.
The executive director of EMPROTUR, Natacha Vázquez, stressed the importance of the meeting as an instance of sectoral coordination. “For us it is important that the media, operators, providers, chambers and leaders of the sector can find a strong image of Bariloche. The season is prepared with planning, with promotion and with the support of the private sector, which is a central part of what the destination offers,” he indicated.
