Sustainability-focused womenswear label Nina Rein is discontinuing its operations this month.

The brand is closing its online shop on June 17th, Nina Rein announced on Tuesday on the career network Linkedin. A day later she invites you to a “sundowner” in Gröbenzell near Munich, where samples and final pieces will also be available. The “last pieces” are already being offered online at reduced prices.

“After years as a founder, with a brand that I built from the ground up – sustainably produced, timeless in its cut, fair from the start – I’m taking a different approach,” says managing director Julia Ickert. “This is not a defeat. It is a conscious decision.”

About Nina Rein

Nina Rein was founded by Ickert and Susanne Kinast. After Kinast left the brand – according to his own information on Linkedin – in mid-2023 after around three years, Ickert continued to run the company alone.

The brand offers businesswear for women with a focus on sustainability. She has worked with independent seamstresses and produced in Europe. According to the company, 90 percent of the materials come from Europe. These include the organic cotton line from Carlo Bassetti from Italy, jersey fabric from Pulse of Fashion, which is made in Greece, and organic linen from Seidra from Austria.
