This summer’s soccer World Cup kicks off on Thursday, when Mexico, one of the host countries of the tournament, meets South Africa in the country’s capital.
There is now a buzz from Mexico – just before the opening of the Games.
On Monday, police under the Mexican Ministry of Security seized a total of 59 explosives from a bus that was transporting students and teachers to a demonstration in the capital, Mexico City.
The vehicle in question was stopped at a police checkpoint on the highway between Mexico City and Cuernavaca.
In Mexico, education workers have organized demonstrations against the federal government in recent days. The teachers have demanded reforms, such as 100 percent salary increases. Demands have also been made for the restoration of the old pension system.
The teachers have threatened a boycott if sufficient agreement is not found between the parties.

A total of 13 World Cup matches will be played in Mexico in the coming weeks. The country’s government has deployed around 100,000 police and other security personnel to ensure the security of the matches.
The World Cup opening match between Mexico and South Africa starts on Thursday at 22:00 Finnish time.
