Niall Horan released his new album “Dinner Party” on June 5th, with which he will tour in the fall. He will also play four concerts in Germany: on October 7th in Hamburg, on October 8th in Berlin, on October 13th in Cologne and on October 31st in Munich. To celebrate the album release, ROLLING STONE is giving away three vinyl versions of the new album.

A memorable dinner party

The album’s name comes from its lead single: “Dinner Party” is about the evening Horan met his girlfriend – a dinner with friends at his house. The album offers an intimate insight into the singer’s life. The last song on the record is even more vulnerable: In “End of an Era,” the former One Direction member deals with the death of his former bandmate Liam Payne. Horan offers his fans the opportunity to mourn the loss together with him.

A rollercoaster of emotions

“Dinner Party” jumps between moods: sometimes emotional and calm, then Irish-folk like in “Die if I Don’t”. Then the break with good-humored pop songs like “Boys are Fun”, which are reminiscent of the carefree boy band days. Horan said in an interview with Rolling Stone that he approached the new album more like a live setlist than a classic tracklist. The emotional rollercoaster rises and falls with every song.

Like a live album

“Dinner Party” is Niall Horan’s fourth solo album. It shows the experience of the artist, who wanted to convey the feeling of a live concert for this project: He improvised the melodies of the songs while playing with a band. He wanted the album to come alive directly in the ears of his fans – not just on stage. Horan tells us this and more in the interview:
