The police arrested a burglar on Monday evening. The man had broken into a house in Best earlier in the evening and stole money, jewelry and other items.
After the burglary near Sint-Oedenrodeseweg, the thief fled into a corn field. A citizen network report was immediately sent and the police arrived with several units to the corn field and house.
Officers soon spotted the burglar and managed to handcuff the man. During the burglary he had filled his pockets with money, jewelry, a telephone, wireless earphones and silver.
The burglar has been transferred to the cell complex in Eindhoven. The police are conducting further investigations at the house.
Accomplice wanted
A second suspect may have been involved in the burglary. The police suspect that an accomplice helped with the burglary with a getaway car. The police are still looking for this car and possible suspect.
