IND boss tempers expectations about the effect of the migration pact on asylum influx: ‘Some takes place outside our control’

The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) is asking politicians not to make any new changes to asylum policy for the time being. Director General Rhodia Maas says that the IND will need ‘a year’ to get things in order after the European Migration Pact comes into effect on Friday. According to Maas, this pact offers no guarantees for a lower asylum influx.
