He won a gold medal at the Winter Olympics. Now Fabien Claude is also celebrating personal happiness.
French Olympic biathlon champion Fabien Claude got engaged. The 31-year-old announced this on Instagram. He shared a picture showing him and his friends Maria Fabregat. They both hug each other and Fabregat holds up her left hand, which has a ring on the ring finger.
Another picture shows Claude kneeling in front of Fabregat with the ring in his hand and a video shows Fabregat dancing for joy. All three photos were taken against a special backdrop of mountains and small ponds in Tongariro National Park in New Zealand.

Claude writes in French about the images and video: “A love story, a future to be written.” Below the post, some of Claude’s colleagues gather to congratulate the couple. The French biathlete Océane Michelon writes: “Yes, congratulations” and the Austrian biathlete Anna Gandler is happy: “Oh, the sweet ones who are getting married.”
Claude made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in 2016, where he celebrated several podium finishes and his first victory in January 2021. He won silver in the relay at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. In Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo last January, he even achieved Olympic victory as part of the French relay team.
