On Monday, just after 1 p.m., a serious fire broke out in the Oostpoeselstraat in Lo-Reninge. It was a warehouse fire that spread, resulting in heavy smoke development. The fire brigade was busy fighting the fire for a while, but the fire is now under control.
“All animals present were able to leave the warehouse and the extinguishing work has started,” said Kristof Louagie of the Westhoek fire zone. The fire brigade continues to recommend keeping windows and doors closed for a while and switching off ventilation.
