CCTV footage shows the woman (18) leaving a café in Bruges on November 3, 2024. She soon meets the two men on the street. One of them lifts the woman and places her over his right shoulder, after which he continues walking with her. Not much later he rapes the woman in the backseat of his car, while his companion films everything. It doesn’t stop there, the victim is also raped again at his home in Ichtegem.

A friend of the woman immediately reported her missing that same night. Via Find My iPhone – a security and tracking service that allows you to find the exact GPS location of your phone, among other things – the police found the woman at the man’s home. The victim was under the influence of alcohol. What turned out? The two men edited the video of the rape with a song and a filter and shared it with each other.

Verdict

On Monday morning, the duo was finally convicted by the Bruges court. The man who raped the woman was sentenced to 285 hours of community service and a fine of 1,200 euros. The other man was sentenced to 100 hours of community service. The defendants were also deprived of various rights for a period of five years. The woman must be paid (moral) compensation of 5,600 euros.
