Whether Borussia Dortmund and striker Serhou Guirassy will part ways is one of the most exciting transfer questions this summer. The BVB professional is said to have now made an initial decision with a view to his future.
According to “Bild”, Guirassy is not drawn to Saudi Arabia. There is interest from several clubs there in the 30-year-old Guinea national player. Guirassy is said to have decided that he wanted to continue playing in Europe.
Accordingly, two factors in particular play a role in the decision against a change to the desert: Firstly, the millions in Saudi Arabia are no longer as lush as they were in previous years. Secondly, the transfer window in the Saudi Pro League does not open until July 22nd. It is said that Guirassy would like to have clarity about his future sooner.
The striker’s stay at BVB is probably far from set in stone. Guirassy was hotly traded around the presidential election there at the renowned Turkish club Fenerbahce.
There was even talk in Turkey of an oral agreement between the newly crowned club boss Aziz Yildirim and Guirassy as well as BVB.
BVB: “No offer” for Serhou Guirassy
However, we don’t know anything about this at the Westfalenstadion. “We don’t have an offer for Serhou. We don’t plan to give him away either. He has impressively proven his value for Borussia Dortmund in the last two seasons,” BVB boss Lars Ricken told the “WAZ”.
Allegedly, Europa League winner Aston Villa has now also gotten into poker with Guirassy – at least in an observing role, as “Bild” recently wrote.
Villa’s Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in Guirassy. He could be “an option” for the almost relegated team, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio recently told the “wettfreunde.net” portal.
