The province of Drenthe will carry out maintenance on the asphalt on the N34 between Emmen-West and the Holsloot junction. For this purpose, the road will be completely closed in a lane closure during the period from 8 to 13 June.
Traffic can therefore only use the road from one side. The province warns of diversions and extra travel time.
The N34 between Emmen-West and the Holsloot junction will be closed from 6 a.m. on June 8 to midnight on June 10. Then follows the other direction of travel. The road between the Holsloot junction and Emmen-West will be closed from 6 a.m. on June 11 to midnight on June 13.
The entrance and exit ramps to the N379 will remain closed during the road works. Traffic may also experience disruption before and after the work because traffic measures are installed and removed.
The N34 is receiving a new coating because the asphalt has suffered damage. This happened, among other things, last winter.
The road will be worked on day and night. The province states that in this way the closure will be as short as possible and that disruption to traffic will be limited.
Bad weather can disrupt the timetable, because then the work cannot continue. A reserve period is planned for the week of Monday, July 6.
Road users are diverted via the N391 and N862, which is indicated by yellow signs along the road.
The province advises traffic from Coevorden to drive in the direction of Groningen via Hoogeveen (A37/A28). And traffic from Groningen and Gieten towards Hoogeveen and Zwolle to take the N381.
Agreements have been made with the emergency services so that they can respond to emergencies in time during the closure.
