It is a bit embarrassing: Lisette Wellens is the only one of the four presenters of Good Morning Netherlands who was not asked to audition for the position of substitute Renze Klamer.

It is painful for all parties involved that it has been leaked via RTL Boulevard who auditioned for the position of substitute for Renze Klamer on the late evening of RTL 4. These are Frank van Leeuwen, Sam Hagens and Welmoed Sijtsma, in other words: pretty much the entire star stable of WNL’s Goedemorgen Nederland. Only one was not asked.

Weakest link

TV critic Victor Vlam finds that painful. “Yes, it is also bad for the only presenter of Goedemorgen Nederland who was not asked to audition and that is Lisette Wellens, the only regular presenter of the program who was apparently not allowed to audition.”

He continues in the podcast Victor Indicates TV: “She will also feel passed over, because this makes it publicly clear that she is seen as the weakest link in that program.”

Bad

Lisette must be scratching her head for a while, Victor thinks. “At WNL they will also see this as a signal that she is the weakest, so this will also turn out really bad for her.”

However, it is also painful for the three WNL faces who were asked that this has been leaked. “Three out of four people will not be successful and then you will be somewhat publicly rejected. That is also very painful for these four people.”

Little secret

Victor thinks that the trio will be disappointed that this is on the street. “They probably did this without the cooperation of their current employer. It is of course not very logical that you report these kinds of things, because if you don’t, your employer will know that you don’t really like it there anymore.”

“This sends the signal that your current program is no longer fun enough. It’s like going on a dating app while you’re still in a relationship. There’s something very uncomfortable about that. It’s bad for everyone.”
