Local residents of Magnoliastraat in Eindhoven were startled awake by an explosion during the night from Saturday to Sunday. After the impact, a fire broke out at the front door of a house, a hedge, the hall and a lean-to also caught fire. The police are investigating the explosion.

In addition to the front door, parts of the wall, a hedge in the front garden, the hall of the house and a small shelter also caught fire. The Fire Department and police quickly arrived on the scene and quickly brought the fire under control.

The police quickly came to the conclusion that the explosion may have occurred under suspicious circumstances. For example, there was a gasoline-like smell on the street and fire accelerators such as turpentine or gasoline were probably used.

Young baby
No one was injured by the explosion, but the house suffered significant damage. People were home at the time of the explosion. The neighbors’ house was also evacuated, leaving a family with a young baby on the street in the middle of the night.

Around two o’clock, police explosives experts investigated the house. The police are calling on witnesses to come forward.
