The car with a French license plate was already chased by the police from near Ghent. He drove towards France at very high speed but decided to finish in Waregem.
A wrong decision because the Golf entered the exit too quickly, could not take the bend correctly and collided with another car just past De Vlecht. The getaway car ended up on its roof.
