“We have new donors, sponsors and suppliers have even given discounts,” says chairman Daniëlle. As a result, Kaeskopenstad seems to have been saved for the time being. “Alkmaar can’t do without it either.”
Alkmaar visitors also don’t want to miss the event. “You show your grandchildren things that I can tell them, but they feel it now,” says a woman. “The atmosphere is really from the past,” a man adds.

However, not everything has remained the same. The budget has gone over quite a bit. Even straw bales have been cut back. But the visitor doesn’t notice that.
Those who could not come to the event today still have the chance to visit Kaeskopstad tomorrow. The extras can be admired in the old town from 12 noon.
