Police raise alarm about explosive increase in bombings, profile of the perpetrators stands out

The number of explosive raids in the Netherlands is increasing rapidly this year. While only four incidents were registered in the whole of 2025, the count already stood at nineteen at the beginning of June. The police speak of a worrying trend. “Criminals are always looking for new methods to get their loot,” says Jos van der Stap, High Impact Crime project leader.
