Eintracht Braunschweig is strengthening itself with a goalkeeper from Schalke 04. The Bundesliga newcomer wanted to keep the talent itself.

Another new addition for Eintracht Braunschweig One thing is certain: Nick Bodon will wear the BTSV jersey in the future. The 19-year-old goalkeeper moves from Schalke 04 to Oker on a free transfer and signs his first professional contract.

Bodon is to be built up in Braunschweig in the long term. His working paper is valid until June 30, 2030. The 19-year-old has “very good physical conditions” and is a modern goalkeeper, said sports director Benjamin Kessel. “In addition, he is extremely ambitious, reflective and a positive character who fits very well into our goalkeeping group.”

Bodon rejects Schalke’s offer for Braunschweig

The new Eintracht goalkeeper wants to get used to professional football in Braunschweig “as quickly as possible”. “My goal is to get here quickly, soak up the many new impressions and learn from my experienced teammates,” said Bodon.

Since 2022, Nick Bodon had played in the youth ranks of Bundesliga newcomers Schalke 04. He developed into a regular player in both the U17 and U19 teams. The “Knappen” would have liked to retain Bodon and plan him for the U23, the “WAZ” reported in mid-May.

Instead, the talented goalkeeper decided to move to Eintracht Braunschweig. At BTSV he should first gain match practice in the U23 league and at the same time train with the second division professionals, reports the “Braunschweiger Zeitung”. In addition to Bodon, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, Elhan Kastrati, Marko Rajkovacic and Leon Herdes are currently under contract as goalkeepers.
