According to media reports, the “Lions” are missing 2.7 million euros for the third division license. The solvency must be proven to the DFB by Wednesday. Investor Ismaik is confident.
TSV 1860 Munich is faced with an existential question: Will the traditional club remain in the 3rd league – or will the second fall into the fourth division follow within a decade? The club has until Wednesday to prove to the DFB that it is solvent.

Investor Hasan Ismaik expressed confidence in a statement. According to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” he wrote: “I think we will stay in the third division, and everyone is working particularly hard to stay in the third division.” He doesn’t hope that the “Lions” have to go back to the fourth division.
According to reports, legal clarifications are still ongoing in the background. According to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, it is a question of which demands from Ismaik will be accepted and which may not be feasible for legal reasons. The investors have already withdrawn one demand: the parent club should not waive its right of first refusal in the event of a share sale.
Memories of 2017
Ismaik also confirmed the termination of existing loan agreements on Instagram. According to his own information, he has presented a new financing model with better conditions.
The situation is reminiscent of 2017. At that time, after relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga, Ismaik refused to pay around 10 million euros necessary for a third division license. TSV 1860 had to restart in the regional league and achieved promotion there under coach Daniel Bierofka. In terms of sport, the club has qualified for another third division season.
