It is known that PSV will supply many players for the upcoming Football World Cup. But First Division clubs FC Den Bosch and RKC Waalwijk are also represented at the World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico.
More players from Dutch clubs are participating than ever in the World Cup, which starts next week. 33 footballers have been selected from the Eredivisie, five from the First Division. Together, this is double the number of nineteen players who participated in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on behalf of Dutch clubs.
Purveyor to the Royal Household PSV
PSV is the main supplier with ten World Cup participants. On behalf of the national champion, Esmir Bajraktarevic (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Sergiño Dest (America), Matej Kovár (Czech Republic), Armando Obispo (Curaçao), Ricardo Pepi (America), Ivan Perisic (Croatia), Ismael Saibari (Morocco), Anass Salah-Eddine (Morocco), Guus Til (Netherlands) and Paul Wanner (Austria) participates in the World Cup.
This puts PSV in the thirteenth place of clubs with the most World Cup attendees worldwide. Manchester City tops that list with nineteen players.
Also three players from the First Division
Also notable are the three players from the First Division who participate on behalf of World Cup debutant Curaçao. Kevin Felida plays for FC Den Bosch; Godfried Roemeratoe and Roshon van Eijma play for RKC Waalwijk.
Fans of these Brabant clubs will follow the Curaçao matches, led by national coach Dick Advocaat, with extra attention.
