The latest national survey by the consulting firm Hugo Haimepresented and analyzed in the television program Argentine Odyssey that drives Carlos Pagni for La Nación+, showed a fact that caught the attention of the political scene: the former president and current leader of Kirchnerism, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, was located as the leader with the best image in the country. The survey reflected a recovery of its relative positioning within the opposition universe in a context marked by the erosion of other Peronist leaders and by the persistence of a strong political polarization around the figure of the president. Javier Milei.
According to the data displayed during the program, the former president managed to outperform other opposition leaders, including the Buenos Aires governor. Axel Kicillof and references from different non-governmental spaces. Haime’s study was conducted on a national sample of approximately 1,200 cases, surveyed through online surveys and segmented by variables of age, gender, socioeconomic level and region of the country, a methodology that the consulting firm usually uses to measure public opinion trends.
According to the explanation provided during the television presentation, the survey not only evaluated the positive and negative image of the main leaders, but also economic expectations, perception of the country’s situation and electoral positioning in the face of upcoming political challenges. One of the most relevant aspects of the work was that Cristina Kirchner’s improvement did not necessarily appear associated with a growth of Kirchnerism in electoral terms, but rather with a consolidation of her support core and a relative revaluation compared to other opposition leaders. The positive image of the Peronist leader is 42.7%, even surpassing the leaders of the ruling party such as Patricia Bullrich (41.7% positive and 55% negative) or Milei himself (38.7% positive and 60.9% negative).
The report showed that, even maintaining high levels of rejection in anti-Kirchnerist sectors, the leader maintains a floor of considerable adhesion and a capacity for representation that no other opposition leader can currently match. In terms of image, the survey suggested that the opposition leadership continues to be highly concentrated on his figure, despite the fact that he does not formally hold executive positions since he faces a very complex judicial and political scenario. However, although she is the leader with the best image, her level of negative image is also high with 56.4%

Haime’s survey was also interpreted as a sign that Peronism has not yet produced an alternative leadership embodied by Kicillof who retains only a 39.5% positive image and 52.9% negative.
The results disseminated in Odisea Argentina join other recent surveys that show a political scenario crossed by polarization. The main conclusion of the study is that, despite the changes produced since Milei came to power and the internal transformations of Peronism, the former Head of State maintains a greater capacity for representation than the rest of the opposition leaders.
