Clause clearly below

At the age of 16, Hertha talent Kennet Eichhorn is already in demand internationally and at the top clubs in the Bundesliga. At the end of last year, his market value on Transfermarkt rose to 20 million euros – the highest value in the 2nd Bundesliga. The midfielder has now clearly outgrown the contractually agreed release clause in Berlin. According to information from “Sport Bild”, this option for interested Bundesliga clubs should be 9 million euros – possibly even less. Previously, the figure was expected to be slightly higher. Eichhorn’s representatives draw costly consequences from this.
An interested club, such as Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern, Bayer Leverkusen or RB Leipzig, would not only have to shell out the amount of the release clause for Eichhorn. The player side also demands the payment of a hefty earnest money, the report says. This signing bonus would be so high that it would compensate for the difference to the current market value.
In addition, the rumored 9 million euros clause should only apply to clubs that play in the Champions League. Other clubs would therefore have to pay less transfer fees. As an overall package, however, the figure of 20 million euros would apparently remain as the necessary payment either way: 9 million or less for Hertha, the rest for Eichhorn and his advisors.
Eichhorn’s demand is too high for BVB and FC Bayern, but not for Bayer
Borussia Dortmund is said to have been put off by the size of this package. According to the report, the Black and Yellows will say goodbye to poker if this requirement remains. As an argument for a move to BVB, the Westphalians emphasize the footballing development that Eichhorn has been able to achieve at Borussia. Eichhorn is considered the ideal solution in the defensive midfield in Dortmund.

It was initially said that FC Bayern would still be interested in making a commitment. Coach Vincent Kompany really wants Eichhorn in his team, it was recently reported. The coach is said to have told the talent this personally. According to “Sport1”, the record champions have dropped out of the race, just like BVB. Because of the financial conditions, the FCB decided to refrain from making a commitment after intensively considering the personnel.
If Eichhorn moves to Bayern, he will get his playing time there. So I’ll lean out the window. Given his qualities and his composure on the ball, there will be minutes left for him. Who knows, maybe at some point he will be able to displace the established ones. But for 10-15 million it’s actually a no brainer…
Bayer Leverkusen, however, should not be deterred by the cost package. The Werkself remain in the race for the teenager, who is also linked with a move to England to Liverpool FC and Manchester City. The problem with a transfer to the island, however, is that Eichhorn is not allowed to move directly to the United Kingdom before he turns 18. Eichhorn will turn 17 at the end of July. A model for English clubs would be to acquire transfer rights and remain in Germany until he comes of age.
