The forming parties Gemeentebelangen, PRO Borger-Odoorn and CDA Borger-Odoorn nominate Jochem Pennekamp as the fourth alderman of the municipality of Borger-Odoorn. The 31-year-old from Groningen currently works as a management advisor at the municipality of Westerkwartier.

Pennekamp was chosen after a selection procedure led by formateur Jaap Kuin. 47 applications were received for the position. The selection committee ultimately unanimously selected Pennekamp.

“Borger-Odoorn is a municipality where people look out for each other and where active communities make a difference,” says Pennekamp. “I am eager to roll up my sleeves. As a non-partisan councilor, I want to work on what will take us further together.”

In addition to Pennekamp, John Goeree (Municipal Interests), Henk Zwiep (PRO) and Ankie van Tongeren (CDA) have been nominated as aldermen in the new council.

According to formateur Kuin, the nomination of the fourth alderman has again taken an important step towards the formation of a new council. The elaboration of the coalition agreement is also proceeding according to plan, according to the forming parties.

The aim is to nominate the candidate aldermen for appointment during the council meeting of June 15, and thus bring the formation to a successful conclusion.
