On Sunday, May 31, around 9:40 p.m., a skirmish reportedly broke out between two men at the apartment in Sebastiaan Nachtegaelestraat in Knokke-Heist. The 30-year-old victim is said to have fled via the balcony and suffered a serious fall. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The 21-year-old suspect allegedly chased him and also fell from the balcony. He was also taken to hospital with serious injuries. Both are currently out of danger. They may have been under the influence of narcotics.
Arrest
The West Flanders public prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrest of the 21-year-old suspect and appointed a medical examiner for further investigation. The laboratory also came on site to make the necessary findings.
“The suspect was brought before the investigating judge in Bruges on Tuesday, who arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder,” the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office said. “The investigation continues under the leadership of the investigating judge in Bruges.”
