It was Vito Braet and Tars Poelvoorde who set up the race of the day. A very large flight because in the end there were no fewer than 32 people. Also featuring Vercouillie, Vermeersch, Dewulf, Desal, De Gendt and Van Tricht.

Those 32 became thirteen, with three riders from Flanders Baloise and three from Lotto-Intermarché. In the penultimate round, Milan Lanhove took care of the final selection. Two Lottos joined in: Bernard and Grisel. And also Gianni Vermeersch, just back from an internship in the Sierra Nevada.

Vermeersch started his sprint from a little too far. Grisel repaired it and made it ahead of Lanhove and Vermeersch.
