Most valuable Eredivisie professional

Anthony Gordon should be FC Bayern’s new winger. Instead, the 25-year-old Englishman will move from Newcastle to FC Barcelona – for a financial package that is said to have been too expensive for the Munich team. As a plan B, the German record champions are now looking at Ismael Saibari, who was once again one of the guarantors of PSV’s championship title in Eindhoven this season.

Bayern have started talks with the 25-year-old, reports transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano. You can also read in the “Eindhovens Dagblad” that the Germans are interested. The Bundesliga champions are keen to sign Saibari, who has proven himself in all offensive positions in his career and primarily played in the central offensive midfield last season. Ale’s first price tag was leaked, an amount of 60 million euros that PSV is supposed to have in mind for Saibari.
Saibari’s market value rose sharply again in May. This season alone, the Spanish-born Moroccan’s rating went up by almost 50 percent. Within the past two years it was even 150 percent. Saibari has now had a double-digit number of goals and assists for two seasons in a row and was even the best scorer in the Dutch champions’ team in this round. His market value increased to 40 million euros in the Eredivisie update on Thursday.
This makes Saibari the most valuable player in the Eredivisie, but his valuation is still well below Bayern’s A solution Gordon. Not only is his market value another 20 million euros higher than Saibari’s, his move also requires a 20 million higher transfer fee of 80 million euros, which could add another 10 million euros in bonuses and possibly a resale share in the future – too much for the Munich team.
60 million euros for Bayern candidate Saibari? Record for PSV
How much Bayern would have to shell out for Saibari instead remains to be seen. In any case, given the length of the contract until 2029, PSV has little pressure to sell. However, there were already rumors of a change last winter involving Saibari, who is likely to be more interested in taking the next step than his employer. On the other hand, the alleged €60 million required would be a record for the club. €50 million for Hirving Lozano in 2019/20 was the highest income for a player to date. For Cody Gakpo in 2022/23, the Philips club once again received a fee above the 40 million mark (among PSV’s most expensive sales). Bayern paid 53 million euros for winger Michael Olise around two years ago, and even 70 million euros for offensive colleague Luis Díaz last summer (among Bayern’s most expensive purchases).
