Kape Aihinen enjoyed the game between Finland and Switzerland in Iltalehti’s studio.
Chef Kape Aihinen was in Iltalehti’s watchalong studio when Konsta Helenius’ overtime goal decided the world championship for Finland. Aihinen, Iltalehti’s ice hockey editor Aki-Petteri Pulkkinen and hockey legend Marko ”Mörkö” Anttila burst into joy when the final result was decided.
On Monday morning, Aihinen was already busy working at restaurant Robusto. The chef was not seen at the market.
– I took one slice of pizza and went home to sleep, Aihinen says and states that he was already at the restaurant at seven in the morning.
– We went home with a very humble mind.
Aihinen is not planning to go to the folk festival at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium either.
– I probably won’t go. It’s quite a working week here and these championships have already happened here, Aihinen states.

The old hockey player Aihinen still gives off the old atmosphere.
– However, I’m such an old guy that I can’t get into the same emotional state as Globe’s 95, which was the first ever, says Aihinen.
– Probably quite a lot of latkä fans also had some sort of assumption that when there are Barvok, Granlund and other superstars, the championship is within reach for the whole two weeks.
In any case, Aihis feels great about the win. He describes ice hockey as “the sport” of Finns.
– Yes, it’s a damn important thing for us that these championships come, Aihine summarizes.
