A detached villa on Van Rijckevorsellaan in Moergestel is for sale. After more than thirty years, resident Bianca Wolfs looks back on her time in the house with warm feelings. “For me this was an ideal place with office space at home. In a great location, detached and close to Tilburg. Absolutely great.”

The house was bought by Bianca and her husband at the time because of the opportunity to combine living and working. “That made it extra interesting for us,” she says. Her husband, architect Marinus Wolfs, had an office together with his father and immediately saw opportunities in the house.

Extensively renovated
In the years that followed, the villa was completely adapted to your own taste. “We renovated the entire top floor, installed a new roof and changed the layout. The kitchen, for example, used to be on the north side, but we moved it to the south side.”

According to Bianca, this made the house feel very different. “We have completely renovated it to our own taste, with a logical layout and lots of light.”

Living in the green
The kitchen and living room in particular have become popular places in the home. “The kitchen connects to the beautiful forest garden. That is really our favorite place. Here you look out over the greenery and hear the birds chirping. It is super quiet. You can walk straight into the forest.”

The house and garden provided space for gatherings with family and friends for many years. “You can place a long table in the garden here, beautifully set. With music. But you can also convert everything inside. It really is an amazing location.”

Got too big
Nevertheless, the residents have decided to move. “After more than thirty years, it’s time for something different. The children have left home and it’s just too big for the two of us.” The architectural firm has also moved to another location.

Saying goodbye is difficult for the couple. “What we will miss most is the woodland garden, the birds in the morning and evening, the greenery and the privacy. But also the fantastic light and space in the house.”

Enjoying the outdoors
The villa has a living area of 452 square meters and is located on a plot of 2310 square meters. There are nine rooms in total, including five bedrooms and two bathrooms. The asking price of the whole is 1,695,000 euros.

According to the sellers, it is a place for lovers of peace and outdoor life, but the house is also suitable for a family with children, with amenities and places such as Oisterwijk and Tilburg nearby. “You have to be able to be on your own a bit and enjoy the greenery around you. It is a beautiful house with many possibilities. You can go in any direction with it.”
