Endangered monkey species in China gets help from AI: ‘Artificial intelligence can register faces of individual animals’

Chinese cameras are mainly known for monitoring crowds in cities with millions of people. But in China, AI can now also recognize individual wild animals, such as monkeys, pandas and elephants. For example, artificial intelligence is used on the border with Vietnam to protect a species of monkey that is in danger of becoming extinct.
