Eddy Lust became mayor of Menen after the 2018 municipal elections. He then formed a coalition with Open VLD with the Socialists and N-VA.
After the 2024 elections, he started a second term, this time with Voor 8930, a cartel list of liberals and socialists. Today, that list forms a coalition with CD&V.
It is not yet known who will succeed Eddy Lust. Current councilor Kasper Vandecasteele may come into the picture, but no official statements have been made about this yet.
