The head coach of the Lions is not satisfied with one thing.
Finland’s national ice hockey team’s head coach Antti Pennanen stepped in front of the media satisfied after the World Cup semi-final. The Lions, who entered the match as underdogs, beat Canada 4–2 and took the place in the finals after a break of a few years.
The match was decided in the second set, which Finland won 3–0.
– Good game from us. The first set was a little slow, the second set was great, and in the last set we did what we needed to do. “Jump” [Justus Annunen] was good in the goal, Pennanen sums up after the match.

The difference in Finland’s game between the first and second set was so glaring that Iltalehti’s expert Pekka Virta too wondered during the game what was done in the lion booth during the break.
However, Pennanen does not agree to reveal what was said in the booth during the first break.
– Let it remain a secret now. It’s great that we improved and had a good second set, Pennanen muses.

The referee game speaks
The host country Switzerland will face Switzerland in the World Cup final. Pennanen mentions that he hopes for a “good and honest” judge in the final. It can be interpreted from Pennanen’s words that he has not been completely satisfied with the refereeing of the tournament.
– I believe that it has been fully discussed here. Everyone has discussed it, but it’s not worth making a big deal out of it. I always just hope that tomorrow we would be able to play with superiority, when today we couldn’t, Pennanen acknowledges.
The final match between Switzerland and Finland will be played on Sunday from 21:20.
