According to consistent media reports, Deniz Undav and VfB Stuttgart are continuing their successful collaboration. The German international striker and the Swabians have agreed on the terms of an extension. According to reports, the decisive meeting took place on (late) Friday evening, and all open questions were clarified during this time.
Undav signed a club-record contract until 2029 with the option for a further season, which would be automatically activated under certain conditions. According to the “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”, the total volume is around 30 million euros. The World Cup driver will receive a salary of up to 6 million euros in the future, plus an alleged 3 million euro bonus for his signature.
According to previous information from “Bild”, the 29-year-old had set himself a deadline in the contract negotiations with his club. Accordingly, Undav wanted to have certainty until the national team left for the World Cup in the USA. The DFB entourage traveled from Frankfurt to Chicago on Tuesday. If an agreement is not reached by then, the talks would be suspended for the time being because Undav wanted to concentrate fully on the tournament with the national team, it was said.

His contract with Stuttgart expires in the summer of 2027. Undav, the most dangerous German attacker of the season, himself gave hints about a possible quick agreement after the DFB Cup final against FC Bayern Munich (0:3). Undav is currently preparing for the World Cup with the DFB team in Herzogenaurach.
This is how the contract poker between Undav and VfB Stuttgart went
According to reports, the Stuttgart team wanted to increase Undav’s salary from the current 4.5 million euros to 5.5 million to 6 million euros. In addition, there would be a one-off payment (“signing fee”) of just over 3 million euros upon signing the contract.
The Undav side therefore rejected an initial offer. That’s why VfB wanted to present an improved offer by the weekend, which would involve small adjustments to the salary and the one-off payment. The sticking point was the contract term because the offensive man and his management would insist on four years – while the Swabians had three years and another season in mind via option.
Undav’s market value is estimated at 22 million euros, and there was no change in the Bundesliga update on Wednesday. The professional had his highest valuation of 28 million euros in the second half of 2024. Undav finished the 2025/26 season with 25 goals and 14 assists in 46 matches across all competitions. With 19 Bundesliga goals, he surpassed his previous best mark in the German upper house from the 2023/24 season (18).
