During the Roman Weekend, visitors are introduced to the daily life of a soldier in the fourth century AD. The event is an accessible way for young and old to learn something about the history of Oudenburg.
“I also read Asterix and Obelix, so a lot of it is recognizable,” says visitor Gaston Stas de Richelle. “But I also learn from this.”
The Roman Weekend in Oudenburg takes place every two years. The previous edition attracted around 5,000 visitors.
