In an otherwise messed up season, Nathaniel Brown was one of the very few bright spots at Eintracht Frankfurt. His performances for the SGE recently even earned the left-back a ticket for the German national team’s World Cup squad. So it’s hardly surprising that Europe’s top clubs have long been vying for the 22-year-old’s services – including FC Bayern. Now the shooting star has commented on the rumors about the German record champions.
“Of course I read that too, but I want to focus on the World Cup now. I’ll see what comes after that. But now my full focus is on the World Cup,” said Nathaniel Brown when asked by the “Abendzeitung”.
The defender’s working paper at Eintracht Frankfurt is valid until 2030, which he explicitly referred to. “I feel super comfortable, even in the city, I have friends there,” clarified Brown. He has “really arrived” in the Main metropolis, I really enjoy it.
The Amberg native played 33 league games for the SGE last season and demonstrated his forward drive with four goals and assists each. Brown also played eight times in the Champions League and collected two assists.
It is unclear how intensively FC Bayern is courting Brown, who moved from 1. FC Nürnberg to Frankfurt in the summer of 2024. According to “AZ”, however, it is rumored that a transfer would require 60 million euros or more. A lot of money even for the people of Munich.
Brown as Davies’ successor to FC Bayern?
At the World Cup, the youngster’s market value could increase even further; national coach Julian Nagelsmann is considered a fan of Brown’s style of play. He wants to put himself at the service of the team: “I don’t really care where I play, whether on the left or right, I want to play – no matter where!”
However, he feels most comfortable on the left side. A place could definitely become available there at FC Bayern if Alphonso Davies leaves the club.
