In the second leg of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League play-off quarter-final, Galatasaray MCT Technic defeated Beşiktaş GAİN 78-75 on its home field and brought the series to 1-1.
Beşiktaş GAİN started the match quickly and went on an 8-0 streak with Sertaç Şanlı’s three-pointer in the 2nd minute: 0-8. The black-whites widened the gap with their shots from outside, and increased the gap to 10 with Lemar’s three-point field goal in the 4th minute: 4-14. Galatasaray MCT Technic, which increased its effectiveness in attack after the player changes, achieved a 6-0 series with the basket scored by Muhsin Yaşar from the layup, 44 seconds before the end of the quarter: 21-23. Black-whites finished the first quarter ahead 23-21.
The yellow-red team started the second quarter quickly and took the lead for the first time in the match with Petrucelli’s three-point field goal in the 12th minute: 25-23. The black-whites scored points from the painted area in this period. Galatasaray MCT Technic closed the first half ahead 40-39.
In the third quarter, Galatasaray MCT Technic tried to score from under the basket. Beşiktaş GAİN, on the other hand, established superiority over its opponent with the baskets it scored from outside shots and went 60-54 ahead in the last quarter.
Gaining the support of the fans in the last period, Galatasaray MCT Technic increased the toughness in defense and prevented its opponent from scoring easily. Making good use of their opponent’s ball losses and empty attacks, the yellow-reds took the lead again with the free throw made by McCollum in the 38th minute: 70-69. Galatasaray MCT Technic, who did not make any mistakes in the rest of the match, won the match 78-75 and achieved a 1-1 draw in the series.
