The BBB in Drenthe continues with one seat less. The party no longer has a candidate to take the place left vacant by the departure of Member of Parliament Koos van der Zee from Een-West, who is moving to Germany. The BBB faction now consists of sixteen instead of seventeen people.
The ANP reports this. The central electoral committee has decided that no new BBB member can be appointed for the vacant position.
The Drenthe States will therefore continue with 42 seats instead of 43, said King’s Commissioner Agnes Mulder during the States meeting.
BBB faction chairman Willem Vossebeld regrets that one seat of his group remains empty. “Unfortunately, our list is exhausted. At the time, we had not taken into account that we would be entering with so many people, and then the moment will indeed follow that the list will be empty.”
In the 2023 elections for the Provincial Council, the BoerBurgerBeweging became by far the largest party in Drenthe with seventeen seats. The new provincial elections are on March 17, 2027.
