Yle aamun’s Jälkikaronkka program section ended today.
Reforms are planned for Yle’s morning. PASI LEISMA
Yle aamun’s Jälkikaronkka program section ended today.
Jälkikaronkka, which focuses on news from the world of science, has been a standard part of Yle’s morning for eight years. At the end of the program segment seen on Wednesday, host Anna Lehmusvesi said that the segment was the last.
– This has been a really interesting draw even for the presenter, Lehmusvesi stated.
In the last Jälkikaronka, news from the scientific world was discussed by Sini Merikallio, Jori Grym and Jukka Häkkinen. Grym regretted on the broadcast that science is not shown much on television.
– It’s a bit sad that one science source is now ceasing, Grym stated.
Finally, the panelists expressed their thanks for the program.
The end of the program sections has aroused emotions on social media. Especially on Yle aam’s Facebook page, viewers have commented on the decision to end the programs.
– Jälkikaronkka has been a favorite on Wednesday mornings. Science from underground to beyond the stars through man and beyond the stars. Really sad to hear about the stupid decision to stop, one writes.
– Why does Jälkikaronkka end? Will something stupid replace it again? one ponders.
– In these moments of fake news and post-truth times, talking about science would be especially important. Now let’s stop the wrong quarter, one commented.
The topic is also discussed in the message service Threads.
– Yle is ending his best TV show, what a pity! The Jälkikaronkka gang will be missed, “rest” in peace, one commented.
– So what? Does the trail run out of Yle’s morning? Where do I get the little joy I think I deserve, another wonders.
Last week, Yle morning saw the last Jälkidigi focused on the issues of the digital world.
Yle commented
Executive producer of Yle morning Miika Ranne comment on the end of the program sections to Iltalehte by phone.
– The big underlying reason is, of course, the cost-saving measures that have been in place since last spring, but we also want to develop these morning contents, Ranne says.
From the beginning of June, there are plans for reforms in Yle aam’s management. In the future, according to Rante, there will be meetings four days a week.
In the past, the program has included Jälkipörssi, which focused on financial topics, and Jälkipörssi, which focused on cultural topics. In the future, on Tuesdays in the morning of Yle, a program section called Rahavartti will be shown, and on Wednesdays, Eturivi will focus on culture.
The previously seen program segments Jälkihiki and Jälkivisaat will continue to be seen on Mondays and Fridays.
On Thursdays, in the morning of Yle, a new Weather and nature section starts, where people’s questions about weather and nature are answered.
Especially for viewers who are saddened by the end of Jälkikaronka, Ranne points out that content topics are made every day for several hours, and there is no intention to abandon interesting topics.
– We are also going to develop the councils even later. So this doesn’t stop there. Let’s see what interesting and important things can be invented for all needs.
