Ronald Molendijk believes that ruthless action should be taken against Palestine activists who sit on the tracks. “Don’t brake, I would say. Just: don’t brake,” said the SBS 6 star.

The Utrecht mayor had expressly banned the rail blockade in advance, but activists from pro-Palestinian groups still took to the tracks yesterday afternoon, after which train traffic came to a standstill for more than two and a half hours. They think it is a great shame at the talk show table of the Hélène Hendriks talk show The Orange Sunday.

On the track

In principle, Rutger Castricum thinks it’s fine when people demonstrate, he emphasizes. “Demonstrating is very good. This was pro-Palestine, that should also be possible, all very good. Only when you demonstrate, you do it to draw attention to something.”

He continues: “If camera crews come, you want to speak to them, because you want to get your message across. You don’t do that covered up, because you didn’t see the faces at all. Plus they sat on that track. That’s just like that highway blockade: it doesn’t make it all very sympathetic, of course.”

‘Don’t brake!’

Table guest Ronald Molendijk, best known as the music expert of Shownieuws, is ruthless. “Don’t brake, I would say. Just don’t brake.”

Hélène: “What you are doing now is the same as what Jack van Gelder did: ‘A tank has to run over that!’”

Rutger: “You mean, ehhh, help me!”

Hélène: “Don’t brake until ten meters in advance, that’s what you mean! We’re trying to help you, aren’t we?”

Free sandwiches

Ronald sticks to his words. “That’s not necessary at all. Listen: we live in the Netherlands and the right to demonstrate is a great thing, right? But above all, just don’t bother the normal, hard-working consumer with it. Do something that makes the consumer think: fuck, I think that’s crazy. Police that go on strike and don’t issue fines: I understand that.”

“If you’re on strike for something else, hand out free cheese sandwiches that don’t come from Palestine, I’m fine, but just don’t bother me. Is that clear enough?”

Big jaw

Rutger criticizes the activists. “There is something even worse, namely that there are also types walking around in that demonstration who simply attack cameramen from our broadcaster PowNed and just punch them in the jaw. Our cameraman is now just sitting at home with a big jaw. It’s terrible. I just don’t understand why this keeps happening.”

Ronald concludes: “I repeat: do not brake!”
