Russian filmmaker addresses Putin directly after winning Cannes: “End this slaughter, the whole world is waiting for it”

Russian director Andrey Zviaguintsev (62) lashed out at Vladimir Putin on Saturday at the Cannes Film Festival. During his acceptance speech for the prestigious Grand Prix, the filmmaker directly called on the Russian president to put an end to the war in Ukraine. “The only one who can stop this carnage is the President of the Russian Federation. Put an end to this carnage, the whole world is waiting for it,” it said.
