«I believe that women seeking equal opportunities in the sector is still an uphill battle and I mean, I guess… I know some female directors that there was a period where, after Time’s Up And #MeToofound it easy to get hired, but are now really struggling,” Anderson said, “I would say, in short, don’t give up, because there are women like Greta (Gerwig), Chloe (Zhao), Kathryn (Bigelow) and Emerald (Fennell), and others, who are paving the way and proving that yes, it’s true, women can lead too and they deserve to be entrusted with directing potential box office hits and so on.
