The first final of the play-offs for the national title between the hockey players from Amsterdam and Den Bosch did not produce a winner on Saturday afternoon. The people from Den Bosch took on the people from Amsterdam in the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen and played 2-2.

Amsterdam led 1-0 halfway through a goal by Katerina Langedijk, who scored from close range in the 24th minute after a cross from Felice Albers. Joosje Burg brought defending champion Den Bosch past from a penalty corner in the 45th minute.

After a green card for Emma Reijnen, Amsterdam immediately benefited from the surplus situation through Fay van der Elst. Once again the assist came from Albers. Romee Joosten determined the final score at 2-2 from a penalty corner shortly before the end.

24th national title?
The fact that the people of Den Bosch are again in the final is not surprising given the team history, because in the 27 times that the Den Bosch ladies played play-offs, they reached the final 25 times.

The next match is Monday in Den Bosch. The Den Bosch hockey players have something to prove: the team has already won the national title 23 times. Amsterdam has only won the title four times before.
