RTL News heralds a new phase. After an intensive renovation, Peter van Zadelhoff and Carien ten Have will present the seven-thirty edition for the first time tonight from the brand new studio.
After a very long preparation, RTL News is finally using the new studio. It is not just about aesthetics, because technical innovation also plays a role. After all, studio systems, LED screens and camera setups have a limited lifespan. But brand positioning also plays a major role, of course.
Fresh decor
RTL News wants to become the leading video news organization. “With a fresh decor, new leaders and a new sound logo, the news comes even closer to the viewer,” said a spokesperson for the channel. “The new studio has been designed with the viewer as a starting point.”
What can we expect? “The environment offers plenty of space for movement, with physical screens and digital backgrounds blending seamlessly into each other. This allows the editors to explain complex topics in a clear and visually attractive way.”
Permanent home base
After the premiere tonight, the new studio will immediately become the permanent home base for all other RTL News broadcasts, including the Late News and tomorrow morning’s Breakfast News.
Editor-in-chief Ilse Openneer: “This innovation is much more than just a new decor; it is a new way of working in which the story always comes first. We are looking even more closely at what our audience needs.”
