KIEV (dpa-AFX) – After a devastating Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiev with many dead and injured, President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has called for more painful sanctions for Russia. A Ch-101 cruise missile, which was manufactured in the second quarter of this year, hit a building in Kiev, Zelensky said in his evening video message, citing preliminary information. This means that Russia continues to purchase the necessary components and circumvents global sanctions.
In Kiev, the number of deaths rose to at least 16 people after the attack, the civil defense announced. Among them are two minors. Mayor Vitali Klitschko previously spoke of more than 50 injuries.
