An emergency ordinance applies at the town hall of Wijdemeren until Saturday morning. This means that no one is allowed near the town hall without a valid reason.
A large part of the municipality has been designated as a safety risk area where gatherings are prohibited. Face-covering clothing is not permitted and the police may conduct preventive searches for weapons. People are also not allowed to carry sticks, stones, weapons or heavy fireworks. All cars are checked when they want to drive into Loosdrecht.
“If necessary, this period can be extended,” the municipality said. The municipality says that safety and the return of peace are now the most important.
