The number of demonstrators swelled to around two hundred people from 7 p.m. Cars and people wanting to enter the village were stopped and searched.
It is not yet known how many people have been ordered to turn around. Unlike last night, there were no physical confrontations with officers. The vast majority of people left immediately when the police ordered them to do so.
The Mobile Unit used water cannon to chase away a small group of demonstrators who refused to leave. The roundabout has been cleared and the police have ended the demonstration.
An emergency ordinance applies at the town hall of Wijdemeren until Saturday morning between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. This means that no one is allowed near the town hall without a valid reason.
