The mortgage interest deduction has been a hot topic in politics in The Hague for years. Since 2001, the deduction has been limited to 30 years. This means that the term will expire for the first time in five years, in 2031. What happens then? Nobody knows that. Minister of Finance Eelco Heinen came up with a plan today, which is discussed by financial reporter Martin Visser at News of the Day.
