No Doubt opened their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Wednesday – with a nostalgic set full of rarities.

The band – Gwen Stefani, bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young – opened the evening with the title track from the 1995 album “Tragic Kingdom”, which they last played in 2009. “Spiderwebs”, usually reserved for the end of each set, was already played as the fifth song – a sure sign that this evening was going to be something special.

The rest of the set included beloved hits like “Underneath It All” and “Don’t Speak” as well as deep album cuts like “The Climb” (first since 1997) and “Trapped in a Box” (since 2002). The finale was “Just a Girl” and “Sunday Morning”.

Blake Shelton misses his wife

Meanwhile, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Blake Shelton talked about Stefani – and about missing his wife’s show because he was on stage himself. “She’s over there, in the other venue,” he told the audience, joking that his manager was to blame for booking the pair “on the exact same nights, every single night.”

Before Sphere kicked off, the members of No Doubt had hinted in interviews that the residency would rely heavily on nostalgia. Stefani told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that the residency was really for the fans. “I want people to come and feel really nostalgic, like they’ve traveled back in time,” she said. “Like, ‘Do you remember? Do you remember, guys? We experienced that together back then.'”

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, drummer Young confirmed that they would be reviving “both the music and the aesthetic” of Tragic Kingdom. “There’s definitely more of that in the set than in recent years,” he said. “I don’t want to give too much away, but it has a nostalgic touch.”

Dumont’s return to the stage

The show also marked Dumont’s first appearance since he revealed that he had early-onset Parkinson’s disease. “The good news is that I can still make music, still play guitar,” Dumont said in his announcement last month. “I’m doing really well. I’ve been really inspired by other people talking about their health issues on social media. I think this helps break down some of the stigma and of course raises awareness – and awareness is really important for prevention and research.”

Following the residency’s original announcement in October 2025, No Doubt has added six additional dates, bringing the series to a total of 18 shows. The last show takes place on June 13th; Tickets are available here.
